The adventure begins in Vidigal, one of Rio’s most vibrant and authentic communities. To reach the trailhead, we travel to the top of the favela using local transportation, either by van or moto-taxi, providing an interesting glimpse into everyday life in Rio.
From there, a pleasant 1.5-hour hike through the lush Atlantic Forest leads to the summit of the highest peak, standing at 533 meters (1,750 feet) above sea level. The trail offers a perfect balance of nature, adventure, and spectacular viewpoints along the way.
Upon reaching the summit, visitors are rewarded with one of the most stunning panoramic views in Rio.

• The hike starts at Leblon neighborhood, near the Favela’s entrance.
• Recommendations: wear light clothes and hiking shoes, bring a small backpack with water (1.5 per person), snacks, mosquito repellent, sunscreen, cap or hat, sunglasses, cash for van/moto-taxi and extras.
