Our adventure begins early in Rio de Janeiro as we travel along the scenic Costa Verde coastline to Mangaratiba or Conceição de Jacareí. From there, we board a boat bound for Ilha Grande, enjoying stunning views of tropical islands and emerald waters before arriving at Vila do Abraão, the island’s main village and gateway to this natural paradise.
The highlight of the tour is the world-famous Lopes Mendes Beach. Renowned for its powdery white sand, crystal-clear waters, and untouched natural beauty, Lopes Mendes is consistently ranked among the most beautiful beaches in Brazil and the world. It is the perfect setting to relax, swim, and immerse yourself in one of the most pristine environments on the Brazilian coast.
To reach Lopes Mendes, we follow one of the island’s most scenic trails, crossing lush Atlantic Rainforest and passing the beautiful beaches of Palmas and Pouso along the way. The hike offers spectacular coastal views and a unique opportunity to experience the island’s extraordinary ecosystem.
For those who prefer a lighter walk, there is the option of taking a boat to Pouso Beach (optional service not included) and completing only the final 20-minute section of the trail. This alternative allows more time to enjoy the beaches and explore other hidden corners of the island.
