Tres Picos State Park (Three Peaks) is one of the largest in the State of Rio de Janeiro (around 2:30 hours drive – 145 km / 90 miles from Rio’s capital).
Located in one of the most expressive fragments of the Atlantic Forest, in the center of the state, it has priceless scenic beauty, with springs and rivers, several waterfalls, hills, mountain peaks, great biodiversity of flora and fauna and diversified geological formations.
The proximity to the state capital and to be located in the heart of a region with great touristic potential, local culture and traditional mountaineering area in the mountains range, make this region one of the best in Rio for Ecotourism and adventures!
The Towers are located in the district called Bonsucesso, which is between the cities of Teresópolis and Friburgo. Majestic mountains, remind the rock formations of the impressive region of Patagonia. Bonsucesso Towers form a huge vertical rock wall with more than 500 meters long.
The trail is quite steep, with more than 800 meters climb to reach the tallest peak.
Definitely it is one of the most amazing trails in the State of Rio de Janeiro!

• Hike level: advanced (level 4 of 5)
• Trail length: 8 km / 4,9 miles (round trip)
• Elevation gain: 950m / 3117ft
• Trail duration: 5 hours (3hs climb / 2hs descent – approx)
• Recommendations: wear light clothing and trekking shoes, bring a backpack with water (3L, per person), snacks, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, personal medications, cap or hat, sunglasses, sweater or jacket, rain coat, passport or ID card, cash for extras.

• It is recommended that participants are in good physical condition for this tour. Also, good trekking/trail shoes with grippy soles.
